In 2017 Marco Berio fell in love with this enchanting corner of Sardinia, sensing its great potential. 

He bought the property and began clearing the ground, while continuing in his role at the Pevero Golf Club in Costa Smeralda, which he had been successfully managing for 12 years. Golf has always been his life, first as a professional player and a journalist for specialist publications, then as a manager and instructor both in Italy and abroad.

At the end of 2019 Marco left the golf club and threw himself wholeheartedly into the Gallicantu project. He personally oversaw the construction, researched the materials, and designed every detail of the retreat, just as he had imagined it.

He is joined in this extraordinary adventure by his partner Raffaella Manca, who for almost 20 years has managed communication and marketing in the hotel sector. Her experience as a PR Manager in chains such as Sina and Starwood Hotels, and the ten years spent working for the Cala di Volpe, Cervo, Pitrizza and Romazzino hotels in the Costa Smeralda have proved invaluable. In 2017 she co-founded CoastPR, a public relations, communication and marketing agency specialising in hospitality, tourism, and food and wine.

Together they manage Gallicantu, personally taking care of the design, promotion and hosting.
